Website Design System
Project overview
This concept project explores how a small, consistent design system can make websites easier to design, build, and maintain.
The goal is to establish reusable visual rules that help interfaces feel cohesive across pages and screen sizes.
The challenge
Without shared standards, typography, spacing, colors, and components can become inconsistent. These inconsistencies make websites harder to maintain and can create confusing user experiences.
Design approach
Typography
Create a clear hierarchy for page titles, section headings, body copy, and supporting labels.
Layout and spacing
Use consistent spacing rules and responsive layouts to create predictable relationships between content elements.
Reusable components
Build repeatable card, link, and navigation patterns that can be maintained in one place.
Accessibility
Use semantic HTML, visible keyboard focus, readable contrast, and responsive layouts.
What success looks like
A small collection of reusable styles and components that creates a consistent experience and makes future pages faster to build.
Project status
This is a learning concept. The next iteration will include visual examples, implementation details, and accessibility checks.
